Garden Flag: Artwork by Carrie George

$14.00

Carrie George, who is living with ALS, created the painted artwork on this garden flag. She described the artwork as "stylized motor neurons with a side of corn flower (the ALS flower)."

Through her involvement in the ALS Association's Creative Pursuits program, Carrie has been able to paint using adaptive equipment despite her disease progression. She wrote, "Both of my hands and arms became paralyzed, but my courage, abilities, and independence have grown! My daughter sees an evil eye and the abstracted corn FLOWER. I used my left hand for a very rough sketch, and the painting was done in watercolor using my mouth to hold the brush."
